Game Unit

The Marine is the backbone of the Terran army in Terran vs Zerg. Combined with the Medic, Terran Marines can mow down Zerg units with Stimpack.

Marines are not made in mass numbers against Protoss and Terran due to the amount of units that can kill groups of marines fairly easily. Protoss Templar, Reavers and Zealots with speed upgrade can make short work of Marines with minimal losses. Terran Siege Tanks, Vultures and Goliaths are also very effective against this basic unit.

It is common for Terran to make 5-6 Marines early on to push Protoss players back, due to the Dragoon's explosive damage.
